Gourmet Updates
Chef Serenity is bringing back a fall favorite and you’ll want to make sure you stop in early to grab yours! The Pumpkin Turkey Chili is back and this week we’re pairing it with Pomegranate Cous Cous Salad. There is a new batch of Bolognese available. We have everything you need to throw together a quick and delicious dinner. We have a few pasta options to go with the Bolognese, Blue Oven delivers Thursday afternoon and the Italian Hubcap makes a great garlic bread - try it with Parisian Pantry Roasted Garlic Butter.
We have pre-orders open for Thanksgiving, give us a call or visit our website to submit a pre-order request. Keep an eye on the newsletters, we’ll let you know as soon as the seasonal Walnut Stilton Torta is available. In addition to the ever-popular torta and charcuterie boards, we also make custom gift baskets. We’re working with Scatter Joy on customized items that are great for gifting. And our selection of wine bags and coolers would be great embroidered - check in next door at Just Add Embroidery to have custom embroidery done. Not sure what to get someone? Who wouldn’t love wine and a book? Stop in over at The Bookshelf to find the perfect book to pair with your gift basket. Have something particular in mind? Ask us! Wines
Marcel Deiss is a celebrated winemaker from the Alsace region of France, known for his innovative approaches to viticulture and winemaking. His estate, Domaine Marcel Deiss, is located in the village of Bergheim and has garnered a reputation for producing high-quality, terroir-driven wines. This wine is produced from the Burg Terroir, known for its unique geology of mixed Keuper marls with rare calcareous intercalations that deliver a strong mineral backbone and a climate that offers full southern exposure for perfectly ripe fruit.
Deiss is particularly noted for his emphasis on field blends, where different grape varieties are planted together and harvested simultaneously. This method reflects the region’s historical practices and allows for a more complex expression of the terroir. He champions a philosophy of minimal intervention in the winery, aiming to let the unique characteristics of the grapes and soil shine through.
His wines are often characterized by their depth, complexity, and a strong sense of place, making them highly sought after by wine enthusiasts and collectors. Marcel Deiss has played a significant role in promoting the Alsace region on the global stage, contributing to a broader appreciation for its distinctive wines.
